Pima cotton, midweight Swiss and Liberty of London tanna lawn turn tube pillowcase. The monogram is from OESD’s Dazzle Alphabet.<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s no secret that I love Liberty of London tanna lawn.\u00c2\u00a0 On this pillowcase,\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0the combination of English pima broadcloth,\u00c2\u00a0a trim strip of mid-weight Swiss\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0batiste and the Liberty tanna lawn are simply luxurious.\u00c2\u00a0 The\u00c2\u00a0silken textures almost guarantee sweet dreams and gentle slumber.<\/p>\n

This particular\u00c2\u00a0piece of Liberty is very unusual.\u00c2\u00a0 Noted in particular for the sharp registration of their prints, Liberty of London has produced this almost watercolor pattern.\u00c2\u00a0 I really like it, but somehow it just seems odd– akin to Pizza Hut\u00c2\u00a0adding Chinese food to their menu.\u00c2\u00a0 Just out of character.<\/p>\n

The linen tea\u00c2\u00a0 towel featured in an earlier post and this pillowcase are the projects for the Magic Hem Pillowcase class that I will be teaching in Myrtle Beach, SC.\u00c2\u00a0 This will be the 18th annual\u00c2\u00a0 event, named appropriately, Sewing at the Beach.\u00c2\u00a0 After all the delays, which continue, by the way, at least this class is “in the box.”\u00c2\u00a0 The kits are all cut and bagged up with the handouts.\u00c2\u00a0 Extra pieces\/parts, threads, demo pieces and more are all in a well marked\u00c2\u00a0 MAGIC HEM box, the first of four such boxes to fill.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bob and I are both sick with our annual winter misery–bronchitis, sore throat, etc.–and my elderly aunt continues to flounder\u00c2\u00a0from one\u00c2\u00a0health crisis to another.\u00c2\u00a0 She has\u00c2\u00a0been hospitalized twice since Christmas and now I can’t even comfort her by\u00c2\u00a0holding her hand for fear of sharing germs.\u00c2\u00a0 Tonight, I missed Jane’s chili and cornbread dinner for our regular PlayGroup meeting and poor Rastus, our yellow Lab, is hobbling around on three legs because of a torn ligament.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 All 8 of my night-blooming jasmines recently froze to the ground and I have an overdue library book.<\/p>\n

I can only say that it’s a good thing that I am an optimist with a sunny disposition or I might be really crabby.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0You wouldn’t like me when I’m crabby, so don’t\u00c2\u00a0EVEN suggest that I count my blessing!#$%^!!!\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I’m too busy counting bias strips!#$%&!!!!\u00c2\u00a0 grrrrr……<\/p>\n

Back to the sewing room to work on the Faux Heirloom Sundress class project and kits.\u00c2\u00a0 That should put me right…….<\/p>\n
