\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This\u00c2\u00a0incredible week of fun, friendship and sewing classes is over.\u00c2\u00a0And what a memorable time we have had!<\/p>\n<p>I was\u00c2\u00a0privileged\u00c2\u00a0to be\u00c2\u00a0part of the\u00c2\u00a0faculty which included\u00c2\u00a0 Connie Palmer, Jan Kerton\u00c2\u00a0of Australia, Kathy Farmer, Jane Briscoe, Margaret Fain and my wonderful, talented, wild and crazy roommate, Terri Click.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBsunclass.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11062\" title=\"GoodbyeSATBsunclass\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBsunclass-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBsunclass-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBsunclass-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBsunclass.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Their classes included Jan&#8217;s exquisite handwork projects, most notably her underwater landscape quilt, Kathy&#8217;s camisole and celtic heart, Jane&#8217;s faggotted romper and elegant etui, Margaret&#8217;s vintage sachets and mug mania, and Terri&#8217;s tee shirt pattern drafting and kumihimo bag handles.<\/p>\n<p>The variety of projects\u00c2\u00a0amazed me.\u00c2\u00a0 There was truly something for everyone, though everyone seemed to want everything.<\/p>\n<p>Each day, mid-morning and afternoon, students trekked to the hospitality suite.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Stocked with homemade goodies, \u00c2\u00a0fresh fruits and vegetables, the suite was a\u00c2\u00a0comfortable and welcoming place\u00c2\u00a0to\u00c2\u00a0visit with old and\u00c2\u00a0new friends.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0And talk about sewing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBlunch3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11055\" title=\"GoodbyeSATBlunch3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SATBlunch3-1024x935.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"456\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the 16th floor, lunch was served in a private dining room\u00c2\u00a0that overlooked the ocean.\u00c2\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sunyokeNancy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11167\" title=\"GoodbyesunyokeNancy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sunyokeNancy-749x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"466\" height=\"628\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each day, over a delicious meal an auction offered up items that ranged from baskets of fabrics, patterns and sewing notions to elaborate bolsters to yards of lace to exquisite handwork donated by the guild members. <!--more-->And we talked about sewing.<\/p>\n<p>Bev had donated a breathtaking, single,\u00c2\u00a0hand embroidered rose,\u00c2\u00a0beautifully framed.\u00c2\u00a0 Somehow I missed out on bringing that home with me.<\/p>\n<p>That day I was distracted by the arrival of my dear, dear\u00c2\u00a0friend Pat Cook who had driven up from Charleston with some other ladies.<\/p>\n<p>They joined us for lunch where\u00c2\u00a0Pat and I caught up with each other&#8217;s lives and&#8230;.talked about sewing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Hope2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11103\" title=\"GoodbyeHope2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Hope2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"446\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The market tempted each student and teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Hope Yoder&#8217;s button machines were flying out the door along with all\u00c2\u00a0of her other products.<\/p>\n<p>Check out her video on the button machine at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopeyoder.com\">www.hopeyoder.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was my first opportunity to get to know Hope and her assistant Kim and I certainly enjoyed\u00c2\u00a0my vendor location next to them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Dawn.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11109\" title=\"GoodbyeDawn\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Dawn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"442\" height=\"416\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While I was chatting with Hope, Dawn of <em>Design by Dawn<\/em> dropped by.\u00c2\u00a0 It was nice to meet the digitizer of all those beautiful designs.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Dawn&#8217;s fabulous designs incorporate crystals.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designbydawn.com\/\">http:\/\/www.designbydawn.com\/<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 We had a nice, but brief visit and we, of course, talked about sewing.<\/p>\n<p>Susan at <em>All About Blanks<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allaboutblanks.com\">www.allaboutblanks.com<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0had\u00c2\u00a0very creative projects and\u00c2\u00a0beautiful\u00c2\u00a0items to embroider.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllaboutBlankslinendress1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11116\" title=\"GoodbyeAllaboutBlankslinendress1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllaboutBlankslinendress1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"417\" height=\"716\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllaboutBlankslinendress1.jpg 417w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllaboutBlankslinendress1-174x300.jpg 174w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This ready-made dress caught my eye.\u00c2\u00a0 Available in pink and white in sizes up to 6, I picked up a few.\u00c2\u00a0The dresses are unembellished and await the special touches that might come.\u00c2\u00a0 I love the monogram and butterfly designs.<\/p>\n<p>The pockets are cocktail napkins and were embroidered with designs from Hatched in Africa.\u00c2\u00a0The pink\u00c2\u00a0dress has another monogram and a cupcake ribbon at the bottom of the yoke.<\/p>\n<p>I bought several pairs of napkins in a variety of colors.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know how many pockets she might need, but Laurel Cade will be wearing one of these dresses as soon as it warms up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/lunchbagirl.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11113\" title=\"Goodbyelunchbagirl\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/lunchbagirl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"473\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another item that caught my eye was a set of insulated luncheon totes, for boys and girls!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/lunchbagjake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11128\" title=\"Goodbyelunchbagjake\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/lunchbagjake.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"453\" height=\"292\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t see that very often.\u00c2\u00a0 And grandmothers always want to keep things even with the grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllAboutapron1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11136\" title=\"GoodbyeAllAboutapron\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/AllAboutapron1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"503\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These sassy children&#8217;s aprons were another eye catcher.\u00c2\u00a0 All About Blanks has such cute things.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve visited\u00c2\u00a0their web site but the products\u00c2\u00a0are so much cuter when you can see them up close and personal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/MaryEnglebreitpiegirl.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11151\" title=\"GoodbyeMaryEnglebreitpiegirl\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/MaryEnglebreitpiegirl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"662\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lynn&#8217;s Outlet, as always,\u00c2\u00a0brought an\u00c2\u00a0amazing quantity and variety of\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0her ever-changing inventory.\u00c2\u00a0 As always, her prices were below rock bottom.<\/p>\n<p>She had panels whose subjects ranged from Mary Engelbreit&#8217;s cherry pie girl to Loralie&#8217;s Fairies and Beach Babies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/LoralieFairies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11158\" title=\"GoodbyeLoralieFairies\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/LoralieFairies.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"593\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I Love Lucy, The Wizard of Oz and even Boy Scout fabric was there for the taking.<\/p>\n<p>Several panels came home with me, but I am most excited about the Boy Scout fabric I bought for my son-in-law.\u00c2\u00a0 He was an Eagle Scout and had his own troop before he and Rebecca were married.<\/p>\n<p>There were other vendors there but I was so busy teaching that I didn&#8217;t have an opportunity to peruse their\u00c2\u00a0booths.<\/p>\n<p>There is so much more to tell!\u00c2\u00a0 But I&#8217;ll continue this tomorrow, with pictures of the fashion show, more students with their projects and the most intricate, beautifully hand embroidered sewing tote that I have ever seen.\u00c2\u00a0 It will probably be in a single post.<\/p>\n<p>Though it was a fabulous good\u00c2\u00a0time, I am happy to be home.
