style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At our daughter Rebecca&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/category\/wedding\/\"> home garden wedding<\/a>, I gave a lot of thought to just how to number the tables.\u00c2\u00a0 I decided to stitch the embroidery in the wedding colors and frame them.\u00c2\u00a0 They are large enough to be read easily and yet took up very little table space.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">First, I went to an outlet store and purchased the gold frames.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I was unable to find 15\u00c2\u00a0exactly the same,\u00c2\u00a0 so I just selected frames with a similar look.\u00c2\u00a0 When looking for their table, I thought no guest notices or cares that\u00c2\u00a0the frames are not all identical.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_31316\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtable5diframe11.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31316\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-31316 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtable5diframe11.jpg\" alt=\"wedtable5diframe1\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">second frame style<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Next it was important\u00c2\u00a0to make\u00c2\u00a0certain that the number design would fit into the frame.\u00c2\u00a0 Double digit numbers were a challenge and even in a reduced size, \u00c2\u00a0really hugged the edge of the frame.\u00c2\u00a0 They also required a smaller floral design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The floral designs are from Sue Box.\u00c2\u00a0 Absolutely everything she digitizes is spectacular.\u00c2\u00a0 From her fabulous <em>Golden Classics<\/em> collection, one or another of the <em>Briar Rose<\/em> subcategory of\u00c2\u00a0designs was embroidered\u00c2\u00a0on\u00c2\u00a0every table number.\u00c2\u00a0 The ribbon outline was stitched in gold metallic to\u00c2\u00a0accent the gold in the color scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When the tables were set for the reception, I was very satisfied with the table numbers.\u00c2\u00a0 In all the glitz and glow of candlelight, silver or plexiglass ice buckets, gold chargers (except for the bridal table which had silver), and sparkling glasses, the framed numbers\u00c2\u00a0gave visual weight to\u00c2\u00a0each table setting.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 It was\u00c2\u00a0 a visual relief from all the twinkling.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, the wine bottles served the same purpose to some extent, but not as effectively for me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtablesolid11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31317\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtablesolid11.jpg\" alt=\"wedtablesolid1\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtablesolid11.jpg 320w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/wedtablesolid11-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My husband doubted the wisdom of spending so much time on a single use item.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 But Rebecca and Harvey loved them and, in fact, they have been loaned out for several events\u00c2\u00a0 since then.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A childhood friend of Rebecca&#8217;s recently shipped them back to me from a wedding in Pennsylvania and Harvey&#8217;s mother, Carol, \u00c2\u00a0has used them several times.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Her church holds a lovely Mother&#8217;s Tea in May.\u00c2\u00a0 The numbers have marked the tables for that event every year since Rebecca&#8217;s wedding.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_31318\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"wp-caption-text\">This place card\/photo for Rebecca&#8217;s godfather shows him holding 2 year old Rebecca.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One special touch that required no sewing was the framed picture place\u00c2\u00a0cards.\u00c2\u00a0 These little framed momentos were the guest favors.\u00c2\u00a0Again, I was unable to find 125 identical frames, but the frames at each table matched.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Harvey&#8217;s mother and I spent a lot of time looking through old photos to find shots of our guests with the bride or groom.\u00c2\u00a0 Table 3 shows 2 year old Rebecca on the knee of her godfather.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With guests coming from Washington state to Maine, Lousiana\u00c2\u00a0 to Pennsylvania and\u00c2\u00a0from one\u00c2\u00a0side of Florida to the other, we wanted\u00c2\u00a0all the know that their influence on the lives of our children was important and appreciated.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The guests seemed to enjoy\u00c2\u00a0 the old images, many of which they had never seen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We had fun with the few guests for whom we had no old pictures.\u00c2\u00a0 For our family doctor, we used a picture of Dr. Kildare.\u00c2\u00a0 Remember him?\u00c2\u00a0 For the always bejeweled, very blonde\u00c2\u00a0mother of the matron of honor, a glam shot of Zsa Zsa Gabor marked her place.
