When this ad ( outdated\u00c2\u00a0contact information has been removed)\u00c2\u00a0appeared in Creative Needle <\/strong><\/em>magazine in 1986,\u00c2\u00a0 I was smitten.<\/p>\n

While placing my order, I spoke with Mary Wadsworth who had developed this unique product.\u00c2\u00a0 She shared some details of\u00c2\u00a0how these embroideries came to be.\u00c2\u00a0 All were made in China by ladies who were given 36″ squares of Swiss batiste.\u00c2\u00a0 These squares were marked off into 6″ sections, each\u00c2\u00a0embroidered with one of the patterns.\u00c2\u00a0The finished\u00c2\u00a0hand embroidered insertion was 6″ wide by 36″ long.<\/p>\n

No edgings were ever posted.\u00c2\u00a0 But many patterns of the embroidered insertions\u00c2\u00a0were purchased and as more were released, I added them to my special treasure trove.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, they can be yours.<\/p>\n

They were only available for a few years and now might be found on e-Bay or as old stock in heirloom shops.\u00c2\u00a0 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
