Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.&#8221; In my experience, more often it&#8217;s the grandchildren who sprinkle stardust in the sensible, practical eyes of their grandparents. But the treat was sweeter still for seeing the amazement in the eyes of this child who is more familiar with the bare bones architecture of the Cinema 6.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Peter-Pan-AthensInterior.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17334\" title=\"Peter Pan AthensInterior\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Peter-Pan-AthensInterior.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"501\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Peter-Pan-AthensInterior.jpg 501w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Peter-Pan-AthensInterior-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As she snuggled close to me, I could feel the tension in her little body when Peter himself flew through the Darling family&#8217;s nursery window.\u00c2\u00a0 I witnessed her obvious longing for the pixie dust that enabled the children to fly away.<\/p>\n<p>After the performance, the audience (mostly children) was invited to meet the cast at the stage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/PanHookLaurelcrop.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17352\" encountered was Captain Hook, and my normally confident granddaughter was reluctant as she posed with the villain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/LPeterPan.jpg\"><img liking, Peter Pan him\/herself posed with her followed by Wendy and loveable\u00c2\u00a0 Nana the nursemaid dog.<\/p>\n<p><a dog was named after me, her very own Nana.\u00c2\u00a0 But she wasn&#8217;t buying it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Lspooneyes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17340\" title=\"Lspooneyes\" theater, we had ice cream and a lengthy, meaningful conversation\u00c2\u00a0 about magic of childhood, a subject in which she is well versed. \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Disney&#8217;s Magic Kingdom, she explained, isn&#8217;t about magic TRICKS, it&#8217;s about the way you feel when you are in Cinderella&#8217;s castle or floating through<em>\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a Small World<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s the magic, she told me.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Licevcreamspoonsmile.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter easy for a child\u00c2\u00a0 to feel the magic, I added,\u00c2\u00a0 but I spend a lot of time worrying about doing laundry, fixing dinner and weeding the roses.\u00c2\u00a0 So it takes some effort to look beyond these responsibilities in order experience the wonder of childhood. Grandparents, I told her, need grandchildren to see the world through their eyes.\u00c2\u00a0 She, Robert and Alastair are\u00c2\u00a0 my personal pixie dust.<\/p>\n<p>We vowed to always encourage one another to keep this special vision.
