This Irish crochet collar is simply breathtaking.\u00c2\u00a0 The intricacy and detail of the pattern required a needleworker with a tremendous amount of skill and time.\u00c2\u00a0 The design is interesting in that the inner semi-circle has pointed corner, like a shirt collar.\u00c2\u00a0 It must have been intended to pin at the neck with a brooch while the longer piece went opened up in the traditional manner.\u00c2\u00a0 On a black dress or sweater if would be dramatically beautiful.<\/p>\n

Several of the blouses and dresses created by designer Judith Dobson (Belles and Beaus patterns and Sew Beautiful magazine) featured a stand -up lace collar similar to a choker.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n

The second collar is 32″ long and straight, with a slightly frayed bias binding.\u00c2\u00a0 The foundation fabric is fine cotton batiste with very finely executed drawn thread work and surface embroidery, edged with Irish crochet in the shamrocks and roses.\u00c2\u00a0 pattern.<\/p>\n
