{"id":18166,"date":"2011-09-14T06:00:14","date_gmt":"2011-09-14T10:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/?p=18166"},"modified":"2012-04-18T11:39:31","modified_gmt":"2012-04-18T15:39:31","slug":"penguin-pack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/14\/penguin-pack\/","title":{"rendered":"Penguin Pack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Penguin_Bkpk_Side_-_Aug28-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18167\" title=\"Penguin_Bkpk_Side_-_Aug28-2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Penguin_Bkpk_Side_-_Aug28-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"388\" height=\"571\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How cute is this?\u00c2\u00a0 Jo made this back pack for her kindergartner and he loves it.\u00c2\u00a0 But what little guy wouldn&#8217;t!<\/p>\n<p>Jo says,<em> &#8220;The pattern is from the book, Little Things to Sew, by Oliver + S.\u00c2\u00a0 The pattern is written very well and it wasn&#8217;t hard to sew.\u00c2\u00a0 I did have to order the zipper and the strap adjuster online because I couldn&#8217;t find them anywhere locally.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The grey fabric is I&#8217;m-not-sure-something-bottom-weight-possibly-in-the-wool-family.\u00c2\u00a0 The yellow and light blue are both from\u00c2\u00a0 fat quarters.\u00c2\u00a0 I just about danced out of the store when I found the penguin fabric!\u00c2\u00a0<!--more--> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I hadn&#8217;t really had much previous experience sewing linings, and I was very pleased with how this one turned out.\u00c2\u00a0 I even told my son that I would make him a wallet from the leftovers.\u00c2\u00a0 Yesterday, I tried that\u00c2\u00a0 and it turned out awful!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I think it was because the grey fabric was way too thick for all the layers.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to try again, this time using only the quilting cotton.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Penguin_Bkpk_Lining_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18171\" title=\"Penguin_Bkpk_Lining_sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Penguin_Bkpk_Lining_sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"365\" height=\"532\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You did a great job on this, Jo.\u00c2\u00a0 Thanks for sharing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How cute is this?\u00c2\u00a0 Jo made this back pack for her kindergartner and he loves it.\u00c2\u00a0 But what little guy wouldn&#8217;t!
