{"id":18236,"date":"2011-10-19T17:40:16","date_gmt":"2011-10-19T21:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/?p=18236"},"modified":"2014-07-22T03:04:58","modified_gmt":"2014-07-22T07:04:58","slug":"white-wednesdaymade-over-baby-dress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/19\/white-wednesdaymade-over-baby-dress\/","title":{"rendered":"White Wednesday~Made Over Baby Dress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/linen-yoke-all1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30852\" alt=\"linen-yoke-all\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/linen-yoke-all1.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/linen-yoke-all1.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/linen-yoke-all1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This sweet little dress has been more trouble than I ever expected. \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Have you ever had a good idea, visualizing an easy re-make on an item with potential, and then been sorry you ever started?\u00c2\u00a0 Well, that&#8217;s exactly what happened with this ivory linen size 1 frock.<\/p>\n<p>Purchased on a shopping trip in Puerto Rico with June Mellinger, I thought with a simple modifications,\u00c2\u00a0 I would love it.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 WRONG!!!!<\/p>\n<p>We had finished teaching at an <a title=\"Teaching in Puerto Rico\" href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/20\/teaching-in-puerto-rico\/\">event there<\/a> and were scouring old San Juan for treasures.\u00c2\u00a0 In that absolutely enchanting enclave, we strolled into a shop filled with linens and baby things, both machine and hand embroidered.<\/p>\n<p>June went for the linen housewares and scrutinized\u00c2\u00a0 much of the machine embroidery.\u00c2\u00a0 She was tickled to find several items embroidered with designs featured on Brother embroidery machines.\u00c2\u00a0 Obviously, at least one cottage industry was alive in well on this tropical island.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I had a grandbaby on the way, so I headed for the baby display.\u00c2\u00a0 What beautiful things there were&#8211;\u00c2\u00a0 finely crocheted booties, delicate shadow work diaper shirts, embroidered burp clothes.\u00c2\u00a0 It was Nana heaven!<\/p>\n<p>Then I spotted this little dress.
