Fall in the mountains is just breathtaking.\u00c2\u00a0 It has been several years since we were able to be at our mountainside cabin<\/a> in\u00c2\u00a0 western North Carolina at the peak of the color season.\u00c2\u00a0 This year, again,\u00c2\u00a0 the calendar is not working for us so it is unlikely that we will be able to get up here when the leaves are most brilliant.\u00c2\u00a0 So we are enjoying this week in the early fall and I’ve brought along a few things to celebrate Mother Nature’s big show.<\/p>\n

I love decorating the cabin for the different\u00c2\u00a0 seasons.\u00c2\u00a0 This pillow was embroidered before we left home and stitched into a pillow up here while I had a few quiet moments.\u00c2\u00a0 The embroidery design is from Anita Goodesign’s Vintage Autumn Sampler<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0<\/a> collection.<\/p>\n

The pillow fabric is a dishtowel, one of the Vintage Gingham Trim Towels<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0from All About Blanks.\u00c2\u00a0 These are fabulous towels to have on hand to embroider “as is” for a instant hostess gift or to make into one of these quick and easy pillows for your own home. The pastel and plaid hems are very contemporary and appealing.<\/p>\n

The buttons were added just for interest.\u00c2\u00a0 I raided my old button boxes and came up with anvariety of brown and fall colored buttons.\u00c2\u00a0 I enjoy fingering them and wondering whose shirt\u00c2\u00a0 or jacket they came from.<\/p>\n

My dear husband took a nap on the couch and rejected the pillow right away.\u00c2\u00a0 It seems those buttons give the loud and clear message that this is for decoration only.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
