Gorgeous little girl, gorgeous dress, gorgeous photo!<\/p><\/div>\n

Preparations for the Christmas arrival of Grandbaby Girl #2 has me up to my neck in stacks and scraps of\u00c2\u00a0 fabric, patterns and trims.\u00c2\u00a0 Pink microcheck, white baby wale Swiss pique, Swiss flannel and the pretty floral that arrived from Chadwick Heirlooms are all in various stages of readiness.\u00c2\u00a0 So right now, there is nothing to show you from my sewing room.<\/p>\n

But as always, Judy Day is cranking out beautiful projects at breakneck speed and\u00c2\u00a0 she is willing to share.<\/p>\n

Remember the pretty white beach portrait dress<\/a> that she made in a workshop with Lezette Thomason? That beauty now hangs in the closet granddaughter\u00c2\u00a0 Courtney. \u00c2\u00a0 Now, Judy has finished a second one in soft mint\u00c2\u00a0 green for granddaughter Kennedy, shown above.<\/p>\n

Made of white Swiss batiste or easy care mint green Imperial,\u00c2\u00a0 this is a classic dress, especially suitable for older girls.<\/p>\n

I still haven’t made one for my granddaughter Laurel who is the same age as Courtney and Kennedy.\u00c2\u00a0 But next summer for sure. I wish I could keep up with Judy’s production schedule.<\/p>\n

The dress was made using a modified version of Louise, a Children’s Corner pattern.\u00c2\u00a0 Mint green Imperial Batiste, with English lace, was used for Kennedy’s dress.\u00c2\u00a0 Imperial Batiste is a poly\/cotton blend, making it easier for busy moms who do not like to iron.\u00c2\u00a0 However, the English lace may require a little touch-up.\u00c2\u00a0 The dress is fully lined, as Imperial batiste is almost as sheer as cotton batiste.<\/em><\/p>\n
