What a joyful day this was!\u00c2\u00a0 Our two older grandchildren, seven year old Robert and eight year old Laurel, were baptized.<\/p>\n

Cousin Alastair, 4, loves a photo opportunity so he stepped up to be included.<\/p>\n

Laurel’s Swiss batiste dress was The Lace Dres<\/em>s\u00c2\u00a0 from GingerSnaps<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0 You can see that the dress looks much prettier on a child than on this adult size hanger.\u00c2\u00a0 The way the under collar drapes over the shoulder is so becoming to a little girl.<\/p>\n

The machine embroidered blue bow and gold\u00c2\u00a0 trinity symbol embellish the Swiss organdy collar.\u00c2\u00a0 Lavish amounts pinstitching and ivory English lace trim the dress.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I guess that’s why it’s called The Lace Dress.\u00c2\u00a0 I really love this pattern and all the GingerSnaps designs.<\/p>\n

As Laurel was dressing for church, we discovered that the new white tights purchased for the occasion turned out to be leggings!\u00c2\u00a0 So she wore lace trimmed anklets which, I think, was a little bit of lace overdose.\u00c2\u00a0 But still she was precious.<\/p>\n

Robert could not wait to wear his purchased white suit.\u00c2\u00a0 When he first tried it on, he stood on the stairs to see himself in the hall mirror. \u00c2\u00a0 Turning side to side he grinned.\u00c2\u00a0 “I look gooooood,” he crooned to no one but himself.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s quite the little clothes horse.<\/p>\n

Our son and his beautiful family.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

But clothes were not the focus of the day.\u00c2\u00a0 Before Christmas, the children witnessed an adult baptism.\u00c2\u00a0 On\u00c2\u00a0 the way home from church, Laurel declared that she wanted to be baptized.\u00c2\u00a0 We discussed the implications, ramifications and meaning of the ceremony and she was quietly certain and confidant that this is what she wanted.<\/p>\n

Robert listed quietly, then asked,\u00c2\u00a0 “Can you declare Jesus as your Lord and Savior without all the water?”\u00c2\u00a0 He decided to pass.<\/p>\n

A few weeks later, he said that he, too, would like to be baptized.\u00c2\u00a0 In order for the pastor\u00c2\u00a0 to determine whether or not they were mature enough for this sacrament, they were required to answer questions from the Presbyterian Book of Order.\u00c2\u00a0 Their answers were mature and well thought out.<\/p>\n

We are so proud of Robert and Laurel and filled with gratitude for the prayers and support of our friends and church family.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a joyous day, indeed!<\/p>\n
