Even though I enlarged the design, it is still too small. And yet he loved it.\u00c2\u00a0 Instead of the embroidered buttons in\u00c2\u00a0 the original design, real buttons were added, along with his &#8220;cypher&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 (click<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2012\/12\/28\/bonnet-monograms-and-chicken-soup\/\"> here<\/a> and scroll down the post to see why RCF is not a monogram).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s just not practical to wear a tie to Vacation Bible School.\u00c2\u00a0 So when he asked me to make him a tie for each day, these embroidered tee shirts were the perfect solution.\u00c2\u00a0 Because Robert so rarely asks me to sew for him, I spent time each day searching for &#8220;tie&#8221; designs and my evenings stitching his shirt (and sometimes one for his sister Laurel) for the next day.\u00c2\u00a0 Each afternoon was dedicated to their homeschool lessons.\u00c2\u00a0 Whew!\u00c2\u00a0 I was worn out by the end of the week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26831\" style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC06666.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26831\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-26831\" alt=\"DSC06666\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC06666.jpg\" width=\"960\" height=\"1280\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC06666.jpg 960w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC06666-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC06666-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-26831\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><br \/>On day #3, Robert wore his collar and tie shirt on his chest, red fruit punch on his face and his &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to but I will&#8221; smile on his mouth. This design would have looked better on a plain white tee shirt. Sister Laurel is wearing watermelon.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I found some unique and really cute machine embroidery designs for sale.\u00c2\u00a0 The only problem was that some are just too small, mostly designed for onesies and shirts for little fellas.\u00c2\u00a0 Even resizing the Day #2 vest to fill the huge 8 x 12&#8243; hoop on my beloved <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brother-usa.com\/homesewing\/quattro2\/\">Brother Quattro<\/a>, I think the collar w\/tie design was too short for him.
