<\/a>Ready-to-smock gingerbread outfits<\/a> were paired up with a Creative Needle smocking plate.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n One year I planned to make matching Thanksgiving outfits for the children.\u00c2\u00a0 The Viyella brown plaid garments were made but before I began the bibs, plans changed and the older two would not be with us that day. So I decided to use the garments for Christmas.\u00c2\u00a0 But that was a stretch—brown plaid for Christmas.\u00c2\u00a0 I made it work.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Alastair’s Christmas outfit<\/a>, Children’s Corner Glenn<\/em> with linen bib embroidery from OESD’s Current Critters Continued<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n Laurel’s basic yoke dress <\/a>was trimmed with tatting, as was her linen bib.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Laurel also had a tie-on bib with a Current Critters Continued<\/em> design.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n These Current Critters embroidery designs are so charming.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The next year, because they would be attending the traditional holiday Nutcracker Ballet,\u00c2\u00a0 the children had Nutcracker themed Christmas clothes.\u00c2\u00a0 Laurel, of course, was the Sugarplum Fairy.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Laurel’s black velveteen dress<\/a>, CC Hope, and heirloom bib with embroidered Sugarplum Fairy.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n She loved the graceful Sugarplum Fairy from A Bit of Stitch<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n But she especially loved the matching dress for her first American Girl doll, Molly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Robert’s shirt<\/a> featured the Nutcracker himself.\u00c2\u00a0 It was paired with black pants.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The crooked embroidery drove (and drives) me crazy. But it was too late to redo the shirt.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n Little Alastair was appropriately decked out as the Mouse King<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I was especially pleased with his outfit.\u00c2\u00a0 Those pants from Martha Pullen’s\u00c2\u00a0 Heirloom Sewing for Jack and Jill<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 are so classic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The embroidery was perfect.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is more than enough looking back and it’s too late for any of these to offer inspiration for your Christmas sewing.\u00c2\u00a0 But I do hope you have enjoyed these posts from the past and that you have enjoyed making wonderful holiday clothes for your own children, grandchildren, and other loved ones.<\/p>\n Merry Christmas to you all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I hope you have all finished your Christmas sewing.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve moved on to baking and gift wrapping and hope to finish up in time for our big family celebrations.
