Is there any more joyous occasion for sewing than Easter? It’s time to get started but instead of pulling out the lace and batiste, I find myself looking back at those confections from the past. For me, it’s not about seeking inspiration so much as it is about enjoying the memories all over again, like re-reading a very good book.<\/p>\n

Among these outfits, there might be some inspiration for those of you who have not yet jumped into this special sewing season.<\/p>\n

Who doesn’t love babies in daygowns?\u00c2\u00a0 And with a sweet big brother they are even more precious.<\/p>\n

This hurry-up Easter suit<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 was made for my grandson Alastair.<\/p><\/div>\n

It seems like I am always in a rush to get Easter outfits finished.\u00c2\u00a0 This one for Alastair was no exception.<\/p>\n

Making this dress was pure joy.\u00c2\u00a0 I love the Swiss handloom and laces.<\/p>\n

Baby’s Easter Dress<\/a>, made for Vivian Rose last year. It was a modification of a dress I made for her mother 31 years ago.<\/p><\/div>\n

And I love this picture of her strolling through the grass.<\/p>\n

One year my\u00c2\u00a0 two grandsons wore matching shorts and shirts with machine shadow work collars.\u00c2\u00a0 Robert’s featured sailboats while Alastair had a train.<\/p>\n

For our first grandchild’s first Easter, she was just crawling.\u00c2\u00a0 So she wore a bubble.<\/p>\n

Eight years later she wore this dress for Easter and for her baptism.<\/p>\n

There are many more, but the ones I’ve shown are probably more than you care to see at one time.\u00c2\u00a0 Still, I have to share one of my all-time favorites,\u00c2\u00a0 this peach Swiss batiste dress made for my own baby girl 30 years ago.<\/p>\n
