Who doesn’t love a wedding?\u00c2\u00a0 For those of us who sew, it’s one welcome opportunity to make special gifts.\u00c2\u00a0 Sandee, my sorority sister (a neat discovery made through this blog!), \u00c2\u00a0 has used a fabric I covet to make some wonderful items for newlyweds.<\/p>\n

When she sent these gorgeous pictures to me, I just had to ask permission to share them with you.\u00c2\u00a0 Can you imagine how pleased the young couples must have been?<\/p>\n

Sandee said, “I had bought some yardage in a great wedding theme print and the first thing I made was the pillow cases for my god daughter and her husband. I also made a lined drawstring bag from the same fabric and put the rolled up <\/em>pillow cases into that. My god daughter is a knitter, and I thought she could use the gift bag as a little project bag after the wedding. (there is a great tutorial for <\/em>he bag on the website “In Color Order”–just google it).”<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandee said, “My niece got married and I made the set of placemats for them to use on their sweetheart table at the reception and to also use on anniversaries (or any day if they wish).”<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandee was on a roll.\u00c2\u00a0 She had yet another newly wed gift in her.<\/p>\n

She said, “Then finally, another wedding gift for another god-daughter (and sister of the first one). I was running low on the yardage by now, and the shop didn’t have any more of it. I made a cute throw pillow and used a sentiment that was free on Urbanthreads.com: “Always Kiss Me Goodnight” and also put on their wedding date. I used colors for the applique that match the sheets they had selected for their bedding (I also bought the sheet set for a wedding gift.)”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Anyway, I just thought it would be fun to share some wedding sewing with you. Of course the biggest wedding sewing I ever did was to make my daughter’s wedding gown 9 years ago! And 36 years ago I made gowns for my maid of honor, two bridesmaids and two flower girls.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I bought my own gown, but had extra trims sent to me by the manufacturer and used those in the other gowns I made plus used some in my daughter’s first communion dress and her own wedding gown and the dresses for her flower girls, and then again in the baptism dresses for her own 2 little girls.”<\/em><\/p>\n

P.S.\u00c2\u00a0 If anyone has any of this fabric to share or knows of a source, I would LOVE to buy some.<\/p>\n
