Four year old Robert has outgrown all of his Gator shirts. With a home-based tailgate party scheduled\u00c2\u00a0at his house tomorrow for the big Florida\/Georgia game, he needed some new team gear.<\/p>\n

Just before I pulled out a shirt from my size 4 stash, his mother, Shelly, told me that she had a shirt for him that just needed embroidery.\u00c2\u00a0Their five-year old neighbor had outgrown this shirt and it was passed on, as children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s clothing and good will often are in their closely knit neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The shirt, aptly branded “Best Friends,” is a made from a small seersucker plaid. The pocket was removed, embroidered with the Fighting Gator. Before it was reattached to the shirt, the Go Gators text was stitched. As a final touch, the buttons were removed and sewn back on with orange thread. That gives a nice pop of color.<\/p>\n

So often I am surprised at how easily a garment can be converted to team gear.\u00c2\u00a0 All that is needed is an item\u00c2\u00a0with one of the team colors, an embroidery machine and a few designs.\u00c2\u00a0 Even an alphabet can get the job done.\u00c2\u00a0 I love being able to keep my family decked out in Gator gear at a very reasonable price.<\/p>\n

Robert spent the night with us last night and was very pleased with his new shirt.\u00c2\u00a0However, \u00c2\u00a0modeling it for a picture was not in his game plan, so this hanger shot is all I have to show. But I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sure he will look handsome at kickoff.\u00c2\u00a0 Which reminds me, I’d better turn off all the back bedroom lights and\u00c2\u00a0put my dishwasher settings back to normal.\u00c2\u00a0 He’d like to alter the settings on every\u00c2\u00a0 button in his zip code.\u00c2\u00a0 Today, he just did mine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
