That&#8217;s how Mary Lou Nall&#8217;s &#8220;inconsequential&#8221; teepee bag project became one of the most useful sewing tidbits I have ever picked up. I guess I should wash it.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;ve raved about this before, but I&#8217;m compelled to it up again, since I&#8217;ve just made 38 more as party favors for grandson Alastair&#8217;s 7th birthday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35474\" style=\"width: 658px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35474\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35474\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/DSC01839.jpg\" alt=\"38 Star Wars bags for party favors\" width=\"648\" height=\"590\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/DSC01839.jpg 648w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/DSC01839-300x273.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35474\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">38 Star Wars bags for party favors. Zipper and ribbon color is varied which makes it a little easier for children to identify their own personal bag.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sometimes I wonder just how many I have made in these 30 years, but the number must be in the hundreds.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>All 38 bags were made from scraps, leftover from other Star Wars projects. I keep a hefty supply of ribbon and zippers on hand in all colors and sizes so I have all the supplies at the ready. And that&#8217;s a good thing, since Rebecca and I decided Thurs. afternoon that these would be good for Saturday&#8217;s party.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35480\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35480\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-35480 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/star-wars-tp-blue-front.jpg\" alt=\"star wars tp blue front\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/star-wars-tp-blue-front.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/star-wars-tp-blue-front-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scraps from a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/05\/star-wars-pillowchallenges-and-solutions\/\">Star Wars pillow <\/a>and lampshade were used for the blue bags.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The children loved them. Choosing just the right cupcake was a serious decision&#8211;which color frosting, which color m&amp;m, which had the most frosting, etc. My sweet, thoughtful Rebecca, Alastair&#8217;s mama, even made a gluten&#8211;free cake so one child could join in the celebration.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Vivian Rose saw the cake simply as a carrier for the frosting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35495\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/V-eats-frosting-XX.jpg\" alt=\"V eats frosting XX\" width=\"364\" height=\"671\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/V-eats-frosting-XX.jpg 364w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/V-eats-frosting-XX-163x300.jpg 163w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The teepee bag pattern is so versatile. The design is the same, but the pincushion is stitched closed instead of zippered.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/bunny-pincushion.jpg\" alt=\"bunny pincushion\" width=\"312\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/bunny-pincushion.jpg 312w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/bunny-pincushion-275x300.jpg 275w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 312px) 100vw, 312px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once, at a sewing store where I was teaching, a small Christmas tree was on the counter with itty bitty tp bags hanging from it.
