Using ready made bibs reduces this project to quick and easy.\u00c2\u00a0 This is \u00c2\u00a0a genuinely\u00c2\u00a0modern project for old fashioned Nanas who think bibs are in the\u00c2\u00a0 Dining Room Dress Code for every toddler.<\/p>\n<p>I love hoop appliqu\u00c3\u00a9 and find it especially appealing\u00c2\u00a0for children. So I usually seek out such designs for kid projects. This turkey is from the <em>Autumn Harvest<\/em> collection, Designs by <em>JuJu<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designsbyjuju.com\">www.designsbyjuju.com<\/a> .\u00c2\u00a0 The text has been added, using the Kid Block font from <em>Monogram Wizard Plus<\/em>, a great program that I use regularly.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3748\" title=\"Thanksturkeybib\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Thanksturkeybib.jpg\" width=\"1247\" height=\"1816\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Thanksturkeybib.jpg 1247w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Thanksturkeybib-206x300.jpg 206w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Thanksturkeybib-703x1024.jpg 703w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1247px) 100vw, 1247px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The text just makes me smile. &#8220;Gobble gobble&#8221; worked well for Laurel a few years ago. But\u00c2\u00a0 Robert was just 3 months old so &#8220;suckle suckle&#8221; seemed more appropriate for him, a nursing baby.\u00c2\u00a0 Around the perimeter of the bib, there is a little more trim&#8211;orange baby rick rack on one and feather stitching on the other.<\/p>\n<p>The bibs were a big hit with the children and the other diners. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be starting soon on new ones for this year.<\/p>\n<p>Since I mentioned corn pudding, I would like to share my recipe for this Thanksgiving family favorite.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>New Orleans Corn Pudding<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(2) 12-15 oz. cans whole kernel corn, drained<\/li>\n<li>6 tablespoons butter<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons flour (scant)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup light cream or half and half<\/li>\n<li>4 eggs, well beaten<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 teaspoons baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>TOPPING<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat butter with sugar in saucepan until butter melts.\u00c2\u00a0 Stir in flour.\u00c2\u00a0 Remove from heat.\u00c2\u00a0 Gradually stir in cream.\u00c2\u00a0 Add eggs then baking powder and mix well.\u00c2\u00a0 Stir into corn and pour into buttered 1 1\/2 qt. casserole.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean<\/li>\n<li>Spread top with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon which has been combined.<\/li>\n<li>Return to oven for about 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time to think about bibs to keep the corn pudding and cranberry sauce off the grandchildren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s holiday clothing.
