\"\"<\/a>Last year was\u00c2\u00a0 the second time I had made \u00c2\u00a0Robert and Laurel matching Thanksgiving outfits. Now,\u00c2\u00a0 it seems I have unwittingly\u00c2\u00a0established a tradition as they\u00c2\u00a0now are eagerly awaiting their\u00c2\u00a02009\u00c2\u00a0turkey clothes.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Using the ever popular jumper and Jon-Jon suit patterns from the book Martha\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Favorite Applique’s<\/em>, by Martha Pullen, they made up quickly.<\/p>\n

The appliqu\u00c3\u00a9 design is from the Autumn Harvest <\/em>collection, Designs by JuJu, \u00c2\u00a0www.designsbyjuju.com<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 There is an amazing variety of designs on this site, but my favorites are always applique’.\u00c2\u00a0 The grass below the turkeys was added and not a part of the collection.\u00c2\u00a0But I don’t like poultry or any other animals just hanging free on the front of their clothes.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The garments were made from brown Imperial broadcloth and lined with an acorn print. Golden chenille rick rack was used to embellish both, though for some reason it looks washed out on Laurel’s jumper.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I must have used a flash for this photo.\u00c2\u00a0 Jumbo yellow buttons were doubled up with smaller orange buttons at the shoulders.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This was our first Thanksgiving away from home, having been invited\u00c2\u00a0for dinner at the home of our son-in-law\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mother. Harvey comes from a wonderful family and we all enjoy one another\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s company. But this picture made me laugh. Keep in mind that to a person, every male in the family is heavily involved in the computer industry and loves his computer.<\/p>\n

quality time--like father, like son, like grandson, like son-in-law <\/p><\/div>\n

While the women bustled about in the kitchen, laughing, chattering and finishing dinner preparations, the rest of the family\u00c2\u00a0was content to spend time\u00c2\u00a0doing some male bonding.<\/p>\n

Little Robert, 3, has his own computer at home but does not have his own lap top. So he commandeered his grandfather\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s machine, leaving Granddad to work on his Iphone. I guess the fact that they are all so much alike and get along so well is just one more thing for which to be thankful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
