\"\"<\/a>In previous posts, I’ve mentioned that Children’s Corner Glenn<\/em> is one of my favorite patterns for little boys.\u00c2\u00a0 It comes with a button-on bib which offers countless opportunities for hand or machine embroidery.<\/p>\n

For my 9 month old grandson, Alastair, I have made two Glenns<\/em>, this one in black check and the other of brown plaid Viyella.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The bibs were for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Mother Goose Story Time.<\/p>\n

One of the best things about this pattern is that if you embroider the suit itself, a soiled, embroidered bib can be removed, leaving the baby looking fresh, clean and well dressed.\u00c2\u00a0 This just plain Glen<\/em>n (suit with no bib) was shown in the Mother Goose post, with a bib of the same name.\u00c2\u00a0 With the zebra, embroidered on white fabric and applique’d on to the black check,\u00c2\u00a0 Alastair can be Mowgli, playing with zebras in the Jungle Book. <\/p>\n

The pattern suggests adding side tabs if making the outfit without the bib.\u00c2\u00a0 But if Glenn<\/em> is made with the tabs, the bib simply attaches to the back tab button.\u00c2\u00a0 Then when the bib is removed, the tabs offer a nice design element to the suit.<\/p>\n

The only tricky feature of this pattern is the buttonhole size. It seems obvious, now that I am wiser, that those on the bib and those on the suit must be the same size.<\/p>\n

After I mailed the first suit and bib to my grandson, who\u00c2\u00a0 lives almost 3 hours away, I had no more buttons with which to size the buttonholes on the second bib.\u00c2\u00a0 Since then, I make sure that I have at least one suit button put aside so that the buttonholes on the new bib in my sewing room can accommodate the buttons on the suit 3 hour away.<\/p>\n

As I write this post, I am visiting this little guy and his family.\u00c2\u00a0 For the life of me, I cannot recall where I got the baby zebra design.\u00c2\u00a0 On-line, I have looked up and eliminated Zoo Babie<\/em>s by Sue Box and Minnie’s Zoo<\/em> by Babylock.\u00c2\u00a0 If you recognize this baby zebra design and know the source, please let me know so I can update this post.<\/p>\n
