quilting but hadn&#8217;t\u00c2\u00a0used this technique\u00c2\u00a0for several years until I\u00c2\u00a0began this project.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Made for my dear friend, my daughter-in-law, it was a perfect diversion from my sewing marathon of baby\/children&#8217;s items.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are so many things I love about doing crazy patch.\u00c2\u00a0 I like\u00c2\u00a0combining\u00c2\u00a0fabric with a\u00c2\u00a0variety of textures like\u00c2\u00a0silk dupioni, corduroy, velvet, satin.\u00c2\u00a0 I can&#8217;t think of another kind of sewing that would allow that.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adding little snippets of interesting lace, odd buttons, special ribbons and all the decorative stitches available on our sewing machines\u00c2\u00a0transforms crazy patch\u00c2\u00a0into a potpourri of sewing delights.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Another reason I\u00c2\u00a0enjoy crazy patch is the\u00c2\u00a0opportunity it gives\u00c2\u00a0to personalize to the nth degree.\u00c2\u00a0 That is also what I love most about machine embroidery.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0But with crazy patch you can incorporate machine embroidery and so much a Christmas stocking for her.\u00c2\u00a0 Hanging\u00c2\u00a0from their mantle were the \u00c2\u00a0stockings I had made for Laurel and Robert&#8217;s first Christmases and the one\u00c2\u00a0I\u00c2\u00a0had knitted for Ryan when he was a baby.\u00c2\u00a0 Shelly&#8217;s was the classic red fleece with the white fuzzy cuff and she wanted something more personal.\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/crazystockingclosemid.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large pattern was simply hand drawn on a piece of newsprint, but I do wish I had made the toe a bit longer and the cuff shorter.\u00c2\u00a0 The embroideries recognize this stay-at-home mom&#8217;s devotion to her husband,her home, her\u00c2\u00a0honey\u00c2\u00a0haired\u00c2\u00a0daughter and tow headed son.\u00c2\u00a0 As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, she has fostered literally hundreds of orphaned squirrels and released them back to nature.\u00c2\u00a0 The rooster button acknowledges her habit of rising with or before the sun.<a specially made stocking hang from the mantle.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope Santa fills Shelly&#8217;s to overflowing.\u00c2\u00a0 She must be high on his\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Been Nice&#8221; list.\u00c2\u00a0
