For years before Laurel was on\u00c2\u00a0the way, her mother had fostered hundreds of orphaned squirrels. As a safety precaution, she had taken a short break from handling rodents during pregnancy and nursing. So she particularly enjoyed the squirrel theme.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Woods Stocking<\/em> cross stitch designs from ABC Embroidery, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abc-machine-embroidery-designs.com\">www.abc-machine-embroidery-designs.com<\/a> are absolutely charming.\u00c2\u00a0 The cross stitch looks exactly as if it were done by hand.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The collection includes the actual stockings pattern, sized for the designs to fit perfectly.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Size of the stocking is one of the most important things to keep in mind when making stockings for children.\u00c2\u00a0 When her brother Robert was born 15 months later, I made a stocking for him without\u00c2\u00a0comparing it to Laurel&#8217;s.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0As it turned out,\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Robert\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s is larger by about 30% &#8212;a very\u00c2\u00a0sizeable increment in a child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eye. Laurel has asked repeatedly why her stocking is smaller than Robert\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s when she is older.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seem that she is going to get over this easily.
