It may require a tuck under the arm at the side seam.<\/p>\n<p>I decided against using the fagoted lace edging on the slip.\u00c2\u00a0 The sleeves will be butterfly style, open down the center with lace on either edge.\u00c2\u00a0 With that peekabook feature, the slip might make the sleeve look cluttered. So I&#8217;ve used a simple scalloped lace edging.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Simple as it is, this slip\u00c2\u00a0 took longer than I expected.\u00c2\u00a0There are so many steps to adding entredeux and lace to the neckline and armscyes.\u00c2\u00a0 First,\u00c2\u00a0one fabric edge of the entredeux had to be trimmed down to 1\/4&#8243;, my preferred seam allowance, as well as what is allowed on this Sarah Howard Stone basic yoke slip.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/EastersliparmscyeBrite.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-14083\" title=\"EastersliparmscyeBrite\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/EastersliparmscyeBrite-805x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"636\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/EastersliparmscyeBrite-805x1024.jpg 805w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/EastersliparmscyeBrite-235x300.jpg 235w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/EastersliparmscyeBrite.jpg 951w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then comes stitching in the ditch of the entredeux, roll and whip the bodice and entredeux edges and then\u00c2\u00a0work the\u00c2\u00a0Scotch tape stitch to hold the tiny rolled seam away from the\u00c2\u00a0entredeux holes.<\/p>\n<p>Trimming the other entredeux\u00c2\u00a0raw edge and joining the gathered lace was not a huge\u00c2\u00a0expenditure of time, but getting the skirt gathered and joined to the entredeux was.\u00c2\u00a0 That is\u00c2\u00a0a tedious job.\u00c2\u00a0 I really dislike dealing with gathers.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve left the skirt unhemmed.\u00c2\u00a0 After completing the dress, I will probably take some growth tucks and hem it.\u00c2\u00a0Adding lace to the hemline would be nice, but if it is used for a sundress, I expect the lace would take a beating.\u00c2\u00a0 Laurel is a very active little girl.\u00c2\u00a0 But I don&#8217;t have to make that decision now, so I am moving on to the dress itself.<\/p>\n<p>Homeschool will be in session for the next three days so I probably will get little or no sewing done.\u00c2\u00a0 But I will post any significant progress as it is completed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The underdress\/slip for Laurel&#8217;s Easter dress is finished, \u00c2\u00a0except\u00c2\u00a0 for sewing on the buttons.\u00c2\u00a0 After cutting out a size 6 and realizing that it was too large, I altered it considerably.\u00c2\u00a0 But it still looks huge to me.
