After the coldest Florida winter in memory, spring weather is more than welcome.\u00c2\u00a0 The wildflowers are in full bloom, along with all the glories that come with the season.<\/p>\n

Laurel loves flowers and hats and smocked dresses.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Laurel is shown here in a sweet department store smocked dress that I bought for $4.\u00c2\u00a0 My friend, Judy Day, says it will be a cold day in***~~~insert “on the equator<\/em>“~~~when her granddaughters will be wearing retail smocked dresses. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m neither so proud nor so productive that I can pass up a bargain like this.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0There are so many wonderful things about smocked clothing for children, comfort being one of the most important. In this dress and others that I have purchased at close-out prices, Laurel can eat popsicles, traipse through the woods and play in the sandbox without worrying about damaging a Nana-made dress.<\/p>\n

And that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what she was doing in the above photos, romping through a field of wild phlox and black-eyed Susans with her brother. As always,\u00c2\u00a0Robert was less than enthusiastic about this photo op, but he\u00c2\u00a0reluctantly stood\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0still long enough for a quick pic.<\/p>\n

Spring is sprung in central Florida, with flowers and butterflies and citrus blossoms and grandchildren. Sweet it is.<\/p>\n

Speaking of popsicles–well, several paragraphs ago I was—\u00c2\u00a0Alastair has discovered the mystery and delight of this summertime treat…….<\/p>\n
