This bag is more a product of perseverance than creativity.\u00c2\u00a0 As I sat down\u00c2\u00a0at my embroidery machine for the first time in almost 3 weeks, I forgot to rotate the\u00c2\u00a0 first design\u00c2\u00a0to be directionally correct on the upside down tote.\u00c2\u00a0 It took more than 3 hours to pick that out!<\/p>\n

If I had been able to drive, I would have pitched the bag in the trash\u00c2\u00a0and bought a new one.\u00c2\u00a0 But I wasn’t yet up to driving and Bob was out of\u00c2\u00a0 town on business, \u00c2\u00a0so I just sat with the tweezers and picked and picked.\u00c2\u00a0 That canvas does not like to give up stitches!<\/p>\n

A late birthday gift\u00c2\u00a0for my dearly loved daughter-in-law, in response to her\u00c2\u00a0quiet request,\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0it is but a small token of my affection and respect for her, even with all the aggravation.<\/p>\n

Made of heavy canvas, it was necessary to open one side seam and turn the bag inside out in order to stitch a panel to hooped heavy cutaway stabilizer.\u00c2\u00a0 The canvas is so heavy that\u00c2\u00a0the stabilizer was not needed for\u00c2\u00a0design stabilization, but rather to serve as a sturdy\u00c2\u00a0base to support the bag as it was jostled around during the embroidery process.<\/p>\n

Designs were taken from Anita Goodesign (tea set) , Bernina’s Current Critters (baby squirrel), Dakota Collectibles (Gator), Sew Many Designs (book worm) , Five Star Fonts Gift Box Applique (monogram).<\/p>\n

Shelly is on the go every single day with 4 year old Robert and 6 year old Laurel.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 With trips to the library, zoo, \u00c2\u00a0museums, science center, children’s theatre, outings and play dates, picnics in the park and more, she is always carrying a load of this and that.\u00c2\u00a0 So this large, sturdy tote will be pressed into heavy service.<\/p>\n

Each of the 6 panels on the tote reflect one aspect of her personality and responsibilities.\u00c2\u00a0 As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, she is the designated squirrel foster mom.<\/p>\n

With homeschooling, cheering the Florida Gators, involvement in political matters and keeping my son happy and in love, she has her hands full.<\/p>\n

Shelly and my son, who is more impressed with the trifle than the new tote. Who left the pantry door open?<\/p><\/div>\n
