{"id":8277,"date":"2010-07-18T13:17:06","date_gmt":"2010-07-18T17:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/?p=8277"},"modified":"2012-03-18T19:02:09","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T23:02:09","slug":"another-busy-mom-tote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/18\/another-busy-mom-tote\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Busy Mom Tote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytotewhole.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8280\" title=\"Anotherbusytotewhole\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytotewhole.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"936\" height=\"824\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytotewhole.jpg 936w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytotewhole-300x264.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This past week, Rebecca\u00c2\u00a0and 16 month old Alastair spent a few\u00c2\u00a0fun filled\u00c2\u00a0days with us.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Among her gear was a tan tote bag of faux fabric imprinted with\u00c2\u00a0Alastair&#8217;s pediatrician&#8217;s office info.\u00c2\u00a0 Heavily loaded, as always, the bag&#8217;s side seam had begun to come apart, so I offered to mend it.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when she mentioned that she would surely like a monogrammed tote as large as <a title=\"Busy Mom Tote Bag\" href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/06\/busy-mom-tote-bag\/\">the one <\/a>I embroidered for her sister-in-law.\u00c2\u00a0 As a matter of fact, she could really use two!\u00c2\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This is the first one.\u00c2\u00a0 The bag is very sturdy, with a zippered inside pocket and a zipper along the top.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytoteclose.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8286\" title=\"Anotherbusytoteclose\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytoteclose-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytoteclose-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytoteclose-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.janicefergusonsews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Anotherbusytoteclose.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The design is one I have used before on a polar fleece throw (see post<em> Polar Fleece Monogrammed Throw<\/em>).\u00c2\u00a0 <em>The Paisley Alphabet<\/em> by Connie Palmer, from Martha Pullen, offers distinctive 7&#8243; letters.\u00c2\u00a0 In the design, the letter itself has a fill stitch, but I prefer to make an applique&#8217; of it, using ultrasuede.<\/p>\n<p>For this bag, I\u00c2\u00a0foolishly worked with the bag in tact, rather than\u00c2\u00a0opening a side seam.\u00c2\u00a0 The canvas is rubberized on the inside, making it very stiff.\u00c2\u00a0 So the bag bumped the head of the machine again and again, even with my hand constantly supporting the canvas as best I could.\u00c2\u00a0 Consequently, the C is skewed.<\/p>\n<p>But I am going to apply that old saying about not noticing imperfections as they ride by on a galloping horse.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Rebecca does move at that pace, moving that sweet baby boy swiftly from place to place.\u00c2\u00a0 I doubt (hope)\u00c2\u00a0the\u00c2\u00a0direction of the\u00c2\u00a0C\u00c2\u00a0will be noticed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past week, Rebecca\u00c2\u00a0and 16 month old Alastair spent a few\u00c2\u00a0fun filled\u00c2\u00a0days with us.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Among her gear was a tan tote bag of faux fabric imprinted with\u00c2\u00a0Alastair&#8217;s pediatrician&#8217;s office info.\u00c2\u00a0 Heavily loaded, as always, the bag&#8217;s side seam had begun to &hellip;
