Gator Hearts

Sadly, the 2009 college football season is about over.  University of Florida’s final regularly scheduled game was played Saturday against the Florida State Seminoles.  It was a great Gator victory, 37-10.

Last week, our son and his wife were in Gainesville at The Swamp watching the victory over Florida International University.  Before the game, Shelly realized that she needed a new Gator shirt so I embroidered this one for her.

I loaned her my favorite game day beads, tiny green alligators mixed in with the orange and blue.  One of the PlayGroup Mamas (see post PGM-PlayGroup Mamas under “uncategorized”) teaches exceptional children and her students made these necklaces for sale.  Proceeds support their fabulous butterfly garden which was featured on the tv program, “It’s a Miracle.”

Fortunately for the Gator Nation, we have at least one more game to play, the SEC championship game in Atlanta next Saturday.  Fortunately for me, everyone in  the family now has a relatively new Gator shirt that fits.  I shouldn’t have to make another one until next season.

Christmas sewing–here I come!
